With the state and national "momentum" to address family caregivers and incorporate them into the healthcare system, what continues to be the gap in supporting caregivers and how can philanthropy work to fill that gap?

Funders Together to End Homelessness Recommendations

1. Decrease barriers to obtaining subsidized and free-market housing for formerly incarcerated persons2. Increase access to legal assistance for persons facing employment and housing discrimination3. Increase assistance to renters facing eviction and enforcement of the Fair Housing Act4. Invest in in initiatives aimed at alleviating health disparities5. Promote family wealth for low-income families, including assistance with homeownership.

United Way of Greater Los Angeles is developing a roadmap to end senior homelessness in LA County with a focus on the Black Older Adult population. We are convening a group of philanthropic experts on a monthly basis to help inform the development of the roadmap. Our next meeting is July 28th @ Noon.
