There is a fear of how customers, markets, employees etc. will respond if companies take on racial equity. What is your advice?

Going beyond compliance with federal laws, and to avoid reinventing the wheel, is there a recommended blueprint (or suggested resources) that offers written internal policies and practices for hiring, retention and inclusion for those companies that are already firmly committed to becoming more diverse, equitable and inclusive?

Looking for advice for a consulting agency that works with fellow social impact driven companies: I see in our network a lot of frustration and confusion about social impact marketing. What are your tips for holding companies accountable for actually implementing racial equity and justice initiatives internally, despite their successful impact marketing tactics? From a consumer point of view, much of what I’ve seen is that folks find the majority of the data around a company’s racial impact initiatives via the company’s communications themselves. How does the consumer essentially “fact check” these companies to make sure they’re putting their money where their mouth is?

01:25:34
I also saw this recently for consumers: https://blackdollarindex.com/

01:28:53
it was such a pleasure to be here, I’m available at celia@responsiblebusinessinitiative if I can support change going forward!
