Thanks for sharing Lenny. Love this excerpt: Particularly with disaster relief, it's important to remember that the opportunity to make a difference does not end when media coverage dies down.

In addition to funding community foundations, what are some of the best regional and/or CBO's we should consider funding who are supporting tribal population, undocumented, unhoused, and elderly?

01:11:01
Chasidy with JPMorgan Chase's Community Development and Affordable Housing Banking. Thanks for your time today. I have a question for panelists: How can lenders, CDFIs, and other financial institutional players become stronger allies/partners for public and community entities?

If someone wanted to support the navigation work of the Listos grantees as a group or by county, is there a way to do that?

Is anyone working on climate mitigation (preventing the worst future impacts of climate-caused disasters through nature based solutions) or climate adaptation (helping communities adapt to the climate realities that are here today)?

01:20:35
@Emily, the company that I work for (Farallon Strategies is a B-corp working on this issue exactly. We support with cities and counties on their climate resilience and adaptation planning and are part of the Climate Resilience Partnership which is advancing climate resilience across the state. Would love to connect!

Volunteer Fire Departments are a huge piece of our safety net and deeply underresourced

01:24:30
Excellent to hear about regional focus. Increasingly a lot of climate & disaster resilience building work is being funded at the regional level by state and federal sources (especially State), yet State funding originally budgeted in recent years for planning & capacity building may not materialize at levels we were all hoping due to proposed cuts (and of course we’ll see what pans out this year). Looking for public/private partnership opportunities will be key if we’re going to maintain regional focus.

01:25:19
Would be helpful at end of session to follow up with an email list of giving opportunities

01:26:18
We keep hearing that the VOAD infrastructure is totally underfunded--that the State must begin to fund backbone organizations to "staff" these volunteer organizations. The sense is that the state is not committed to finding funding for this critical work.
